What Happened in Vegas, Didn't Stay There
Every year, Quantus Mortgage Solutions hosts an annual conference that brings together our team and business partners for a few days of problem-solving, team building, and of course, a little fun.
For 2019, we travelled to Las Vegas to kick off our tenth year in style, but contrary to the slogan, not all things stayed in Vegas.
Promises On The Promenade
The sunny, warm weather of Las Vegas was a welcoming feeling after the first snowfall and cool temperatures of Alberta. The team enjoyed the evening on The Linq Promenade, thanks to our sponsor, TD Canada Trust, laughing over failed Boomerang attempts and street-side entertainment.
In between highly competitive games of Jenga®, a few brokers conspired to get tattoos of the Quantus ‘Q’ later that week. However, those were just promises spurred on by the energy of Las Vegas, right?
The Neon Lights Of Vegas From Above
When the dress code for the evening says ‘smart’, the Quantus team shows up in style. Our second evening started with cocktails at The Chandelier, aptly named for the massive chandeliers curtaining the three-level lounge.
However, stomachs were soon growling and we made our way to Beauty & Essex for dinner.
The delicious family-style dinner had all of us loosening our belts and ordering coffee at 9:00 p.m. A huge thank you to RFA (formerly Street Capital Bank) for sponsoring the dinner and preparing us for the surprise of the evening.
Making our way down to the lobby, buses whisked us away to Maverick Helicopters where we finished the evening in true Vegas style—flying over the bright lights of the Strip. While requests for being dropped off on the roofs of our hotels were denied, there was no denying that this team building event was one that will be hard to beat next year. We want to give a large thank you to Merix Financial who sponsored this fantastic team event!
Top Shots And A Truthful Promise
Our annual conference is a fantastic way to celebrate what truly makes us special: our people. There are very few companies out there that are lucky enough to have such dedicated people, that they get a permanent tattoo of the company logo!
Mortgage broker, Jan Hicks, kept the promise of getting a ‘Q’ tattooed on her ankle—her first tattoo ever! Although, we do have to say that it is pretty Q-ute.
Among the fun and team building, we did make time to brainstorm how to further help our clients and help each other grow our business. Aside from Jan’s new tattoo, we brought home great ideas from Vegas. Thank you to Home Trust who sponsored our meeting!
With business taken care of, it was time for a little friendly competition at Top Golf. While we don’t like to keep score, we do want to say a huge thank you to MCAP who made golf swing showdown between Quantus co-owners, Paul Bojakli, and Todd Fralic, possible.
